I'd describe myself as someone who's scared of code. Every time I tried to learn Python before, I hit a wall around functions and gave up. What I appreciated most was that feedback targeted exactly what I wrote — not general advice about machine learning. The program is well-structured but it's not effortless — you do need to put in regular hours. What made it manageable was that there are no hard deadlines, and my mentor was flexible when I had a busy work week. The deployment module was the part I'd never touched before. Jirapa worked in data entry and had no programming background. She'd watched several free YouTube tutorials but never got past basic syntax before losing the thread.

Finished the ML track with three projects: a sales forecast model, a text classifier, and a simple recommendation script. She's now contributing to internal data work at her employer.
